The Standard at 36th is divided into 3 wings. With a large U-shaped plan, the east and west wings contain the apartment complexes. The central wing includes office spaces at the top, and community amenities on the lower floors for the occupants of the building. At the rear, the courtyard space offers a resort-style in ground pool, outdoor grills, outdoor gas fireplaces, dog parks, and a putting green. This building has so much to offer and is located right off Interstate 35 at the northeast edge of Ankeny, making it an ideal location for commuters from Ames or Des Moines. Exposed glulam beams emphasize the entryway, 4th floor patio, and lofty office ceilings. Alternating patterns of brick and paneling wrap the facade in contrasting dark and light tones that make the sharp details visible from the interstate.
